Description:
EPMA, European Projects & Management Agency, is a non-profit research oriented organization, co-founded by the Czech Region Vysocina and BMI Association as a half-public body in 2004 in order to develop international project based co-operation of European regions and regional partners towards knowledge based information society.
This objective is implemented through activities like research, awareness rising, project management support and networking with a desire to strength a dialog and co-operation between public administrations, research communities, business organizations and civic initiatives.
EPMA activities are focused on several action lines:
1. Strategic and Policy support for Vysocina Region (working with regional and national politicians and key administrative staff), exchange of best practices with EU regions.
2. Support to local digital agendas, cooperation with regional key stakeholders (including Structural funds tools)
3. Analyses and monitoring of implementation of EU Policies at national level (eGovernment, eParticipation, Digital Literacy, Public Sector Information), cooperation with National government, Council of Europe and European Commission.
4. Research activities and cooperation with EU partners, including organization of international events (ERA, FP, CIP, Interreg, Leonardo, etc.)
Working closely with Vysocina Region, EPMA is often assisting administrative staff from IT department of the Regional Authority in EU projects especially dealing with eGovernment and eParticipation (Legees, eParticipate, ROWANET) or eBusiness (ICHNOS).
EPMA regularly cooperates with Czech Universities and Colleges (e.g. Masaryk University Brno, Westmoravian College Trebic, Pardubice University, Charles University in Prague) as well as with experts from the Czech National Government, different Ministries and business partners.
EPMA is a leading co-fonder of the National initiative Czech PSI Wach on re-use of Public Sector Information, and a member of the National Government Advisory team on Free Access to information.
EPMA is benefiting from co-operation with significant European networks like ELANET (European Local Authorities Network) and speaking at annual EISCO conference on actual topics.
Key areas of the research interest and activities of EPMA experts are related to eGovernment/eDemocracy with a special attention to eParticipation field.
In DEMOnet EPMA is responsible for the integration and actions towards Government Executives stakeholder group as a part of eParticipation Community of Practice.
EPMA is co-organizing annual international conference Eastern European eGovernment Days from 2005 in Prague with Form eGovernment/OCG (AT).
