The Technical University of Kosice (http://www.tuke.sk) has nine faculties with about 16,000 students, providing education on bachelor, master and PhD level in a wide range of technical but also non-technical study branches. Tuition is tightly coupled with research activities in corresponding research areas.
The Faculty of Economics (http://www.tuke.sk/ekf/en/index.php) has more than 800 full time and part time Bc, MSc and PhD students. The Faculty’s staff members carry out research in several areas, e.g.: socio-economics analysis of ICT applications, good practice processing; e-Government, e-Participation, e-Business, e-Procurement, e-Banking, knowledge management, knowledge economy, and Information society development. Main areas of expertise: socio-economic analyses, ontology-based knowledge modelling, knowledge systems, semantic technologies, knowledge management, data and text mining, web technologies, design and analysis of eGovernment and eBusiness applications, information society and knowledge economy devolopment – trends, benchmarks, indexes etc.
The Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Informatics, the Department of Cybernetics and Artificial Intelligence (http://www.tuke.sk/kkui/kkui-a.html) has a strong record in applied research in the area of knowledge management, knowledge technologies, ontology-based knowledge modelling, web technologies, e-government, data and text mining etc.
