This dropdown menu allows you to change the state of the item you are located on.

When an item is first created, it is automatically a public draft (colour coded green). This means that the owner(s) is able to edit and view the item and that the item is visible to all DEMO-net members but not to anonymous users. The possible transitions from this state are make private and publish.

When an item is private (colour coded red), it is hidden to the majority of DEMO-net members and to all anonymous visitors. Only the owner, the people he might share the item with and the site managers are able to see and edit the item. The possible transition from this state is make visible which will return the item to a public draft.

When an item is published (colour coded blue), its content is visible to all DEMO-net members and anonymous visitors. The possible transition from this state is retract which returns it to a public draft.
