Search window

Up to Table of Contents

The search window is a tool which allows you to quickly find a document or other type of content on the website. Simply type in your search words and the system will automatically search the site and present you with the results live as you are typing. For a full list of search results you can either click the search button or the show all link at the bottom of the search results list.

If you should find this list too extensive and if you are unable to easily find the search result you are looking for, you can do one of the following. If you know the type of content you are looking for, you can limit your search by looking at the content type icon in front of the search result. Alternatively, you can use the advanced search tool. You will find a link to this tool at the top of the search results page (the page that appears when you press the search button after typing in your search words). This tool will allow you to perform a more detailed search and should therefore help you target your search better. It contains the following search options:

Search Text: For a simple text search, enter your search term here. Multiple words may be found by combining them with AND and OR. The text in this field will be matched with items’ contents, title and description.

Title: Return items matching this title

Keywords: Return items matching one or more of these keywords. Multiple words may be found by pressing Ctrl (or Apple key on Mac) while clicking on the keywords.

Description: Return items matching this description. Multiple words may be found by combining them with AND and OR.

New item since: Return items added since you were last logged on, the last week, etc. Select the time span in the dropdown list.

Item type: Return items of a specific type. You can select more than one type.

Author: Return items created by a particular person. Here author refers to the DEMO-net member who entered the item on the portal.

Review status: As a reviewer, you may search for items based on their review state. If you wish to constrain results to items in certain states, select them from this list.
