The Budapest Symposium will set the stage for discussion and debate around the critical challenges stakeholders face as they struggle to deliver the full potential of e-Government. The Symposium is aimed at both practitioners and academics and will feature best practices and current research on e-democracy and e-participation. Those involved will help shape the future agenda for e-Participation at a time when international institutions are searching for the way forward.

This is followed by a one day symposium in Baltimore, USA on August 3, 2006 where the findings of the Budapest Symposium will be explored in greater depth.

Help shape the debate by participating in these highly timely and dynamic events. Topics will break outside the conventional conference agenda to critically re-examine the impact of technology on citizen-centric government as we know it. Plenary panels and small group sessions will highlight key democracy activities from all levels of government and society.
