DEMO-net, the eParticipation Network, is making its communication with all those interested in our work more frequent. In this newsletter, we provide you with the latest updates on eParticipation events and publications. We remind you that the link of the network is http://www.demo-net.org/.
Events Coming Up
This session focuses on contributions aim at designing tools and methodologies based on decision analysis principles to support participatory decision processes in political issues. This session will touch from a GDN perspective some of the key issues in e-participation: e-voting, e-participatory budgeting, facilitating participation with simpler systems and a comparison of participatory and e-participatory processes.

A conference and workshop on informatization of public administration will be held by the Technical University of Košice
The 2008 DEMO-net PhD colloquium is taking place in conjunction with EGOV'08 in cooperation with the AIS Special Interest Group on eGovernment. Papers will be reviewed and discussed by other PhD students and senior researchers in the eParticipation field. Certain tutorials will also take place on eParticipation aspects by senior DEMO-net researchers.

Dr. Tambouris (University of Macedonia) presented the short paper (poster) “Identifying Research Themes and Methods in eElectioneering” by Kampitaki D., Tambouris E. and Tarabanis K.
The research workshop was organized by DEMO-net and Örebro University, in cooperation with the Civil Society and New Forms of Governance in Europe (CINEFOGO) conference “Normative Implications of New Forms of Participation for Democratic Policy Processes”.
The chair of the panel was Maria A. Wimmer from University of Koblenz, Germany.
