Scenario testing

Napier use this systems evaluation approach in collaborative projects to assess tool requirements and evaluate prototypes. Scenarios envision in short narrative clips how technology providers intend a system-to-be-designed, or a prototype, to be used by its intended users. The approach is intended to stimulate discussion with them of the feasibility and desirability of the envisioned changes to practice, or other claims made about the tool’s impact. If the intended users are asked to perform tasks described in a scenario by using a prototype tool, the scenario also provides a context for usability testing (see Carroll et al., 1992).
