eParticipation - Youth active

Full title: The active user behaviour of Salzburg’s youth in consideration of (political) participation by using Internet and mobile communication

Description:

The active involvement of young people in the process of socio-political decision-making plays a very important role in our societies. Especially in the context of decreasing the voting age to 16 this issue becomes even more relevant.

Therefore, the ICT&S Center initiated the survey eParticipation – youth active by focussing on the active user behaviour of Salzburg’s youth in the context of (political) participation using Internet and mobile communication. The study lays combines three different dimensions: thematic interest and lack of information of young people, ICT usage and readiness to participate. Based on these dimensions a matrix of information-deficits is used as a basis for strategic political communication with young people.

The project is directed by Ursula Maier-Rabler and Christiana Hartwig and is a joint project of the ICT&S Center at the University of Salzburg in cooperation with Akzente Salzburg
