IT-Netværk for Ældreråd

Strengthen senior citizens’ continued participation in the information society and support communication and collaboration in and between senior citizen councils, and improve the political influence of the councils by:

• Implementing an IT based network for the councils.
• Educating council members in the use of IT for communication and information collection.
• Teaching council members to build and maintain their own websites.
• Building a knowledge base with relevant information.

The project was part of the national "It for senior citizens" program funded by the Ministry for Research. The project developed a portal for senior citizen councils with links to news, laws, statistics and other sites relevant for senior citizens and the senior citzen's councils present in all municipalities. The portal also links to the web sites of participating senior citizen councils in the region. The project involved education and training in IT, mail and web usage in addition to buiulding and maintaining the portal and its websites.
