Argumentation support systems
Description:Argumentation Support Systems are computer software for helping people to participate in various kinds of goal-directed dialogues in which arguments are exchanged. Their potential relevance for eParticipation should be readily apparent, since the goal of eParticipation is to engage citizens in dialogues with government about such matters as public policy, plans, or legislation. Surely argumentation plays a central role in this process. In a public consultation, for example, citizens are given an opportunity to not only make suggestions, but also support these suggestions with arguments.
